10 beauty tips for the Busy Women

We know what it feels like: waking up to a work day with this sense of knowing you have lots to do, but so very little time to do it. Amid this rush to start your day, your beauty routine can suffer, leaving you feeling unsatisfied and, in some cases, unprepared to face the day. Here are 10 beauty tips that can slash minutes off your routine, but still leave you feeling satisfactorily refreshed and ready to take on the world.

1. Clean Skin

With a cleaner and healthier skin, you will find little need for too much makeup. So, start your day with a thorough face wash; keep your skin-cleansing products within reach on your sink, so you don’t forget.

2. Use a Multi-purpose Moisturizer

With a lotion that carries a SPF of 30 and contains antioxidants, you can achieve a threefold function of a moisturizer, sunscreen and anti-aging cream. The antioxidants in the lotion have an anti-aging and skin tightening benefits.

3. Take Care Of Your Tangles in The Shower

Wrestling with knots and tangles in your hair when you’re hard pressed for time can be frustrating, not to mention, destructive to your hair strands. To save time, run a large-toothed comb through your tresses when you’re conditioning them.

4. Don’t Blow-Dry Immediately After A Shower

Don’t blow-dry your hair immediately after stepping out of a shower. Instead, wrap your hair up in a towel, and get started on your make-up. Once your hair is about 80% dry, you can use the blow-dryer to set and style your hair.

5. No Time To Blow-Dry?

Simply run anti-frizz serum or cream through your tresses, and braid them. Get on with the rest of your routine. When your hair is completely dry, you’ll be left with naturally wavy, yet manageable tresses, that you can leave down or wrap into a ponytail.

6. Swap Your Routine Up

Do your eyes before your face, that is, before you apply your foundation. That way, you won’t lose precious time cleaning or rubbing off any eye-makeup mishaps from your face after you’ve made it up.

7. Eyebrows, Eyelashes and Eyeliner

Sometimes, all it takes is just a clean face, and focusing on your eyes: specifically your eyebrows, eyelashes and the eyeliner. Lightly brush your eyebrows into shape and fill them in, if necessary and here are some helpful tips for perfect eyebrows. Then, apply a dark shade of liner to your upper lashes, and finally, run a mascara wand lightly in your lashes to give them definition. And you’re good to go.

8. Invest In Eyelash Extensions

If doing your eyelashes takes up a chunk of your time, get eyelash extensions professionally added at your salon. The procedure takes about an hour and last for over a month, before you need to fill them in again. These extensions render most eye-makeup like mascara and liner completely unnecessary, thereby slashing a good chunk of your make-up time. They make your eyelashes look thicker and fuller without any effort.

9. Start with Primer and Concealer

Start your face make-up routine by applying a layer of primer, which will give your skin a smooth feel. It also makes it easier to apply the rest of your makeup quickly, and lets it stay on for longer.
Alternatively, you can, use concealer to cover up your blemishes and dark spots under your eyes. Then finish the rest of your morning routine – such as breakfast. By then, the concealer would have set, leaving no need for too much make-up; you can finish your routine in a short time and head out of the door.

10. Take Care of Your Hands and Feet

Schedule regular mani-pedi sessions with your salon to make sure your hands and feet are always at their best. Keep a callus softener, foot file and scrub at hand and spend a minute on each foot at least twice a week.

As for your fingernails, if there’s no time for a manicure, you can try buffing your nails to keep them looking shiny and healthy. Also, keep a tub of hand-cream to rub on after you’ve buffed your nails to keep both your hands and nails hydrated throughout the day.

When you’re anticipating a day filled with deadlines or lot of running around, you want your makeup routine to help fortify yourself for the day, not add to your already busy day. Slashing chunks of time from the routine using the tips suggested above can let you head out the door feeling refreshed and relaxed, rather than rushed and unfocused.
